coPhilly is a unique and hand’s on start-up crowdfunding accelerator program based out of Philadelphia http://citycoho.com/ in Philadelphia, PA. CoPhilly accepts startups, nonprofits, creative’s, makers and small business owners seeking $10K – $1M in seed or growth capital into 10-week programs that culminates with a Business Demonstration Weekend through weekly workshops via hands on teaching, original curriculum development, business strategy and management, business mentoring, and digital media strategy.

Stage Left: History of Theatre in SF. (Documentary) (Dir. Austin Forbord in attendance)

Stage Left is a documentary film in celebration of a unique theater community. The film begins with the founding of The San Francisco Actor’s Workshop in 1952 and extends through 2010. Inspired by a Western history of risk taking and exploration, a climate of political and social activism, a particular multicultural mix, and a geography that is seismically unstable, San Francisco Theater artists have focused on pushing the boundaries of the form.

Mind Flesh (81min) Horror, Sci-Fi

MindFlesh is a horror/thriller about obsession. Chris Jackson is a taxi driver with a childhood trauma. The trauma has made him a portal for obsessions to pass from the mind to the physical world and hence disrupt the world’s multiple planes of reality. Extraterrestrials that police the universe threaten to kill Chris’ friends unless he conquers his past.

Getting by in the rich world of Manhatten takes on shocking proportions.

Forty-five minutes later, after trashing the receptionist!s desk and holding off the Cambridge police, Joe Davis walked out of Director Otto Piene’s office with a academic appointment at MIT.

A 3 day Workshop on Digital Media Strategy, Marketing, and Social Media — Enabling the Eco-System.

January 14, 15, and 16

The Program

This highly experimental and hands-on workshop presents strategies and tactics for entrepreneurs who wish to take advantage of social media as a marketing tool. It will consider the role of marketing in a digital networked world, support new approaches to marketing, and present practical tips for shaping online campaigns.

Because of its experimental nature, the three-day workshop is free, but seating is limited. Laptops will be supplied, but those with laptops are encouraged to bring their own. Participants will receive hand-outs.

Angel Rodriguez is the Executive Director of the Empowerment Group. He has worked with both nonprofit and for profit companies, as well as with groups engaged in youth and community development. He has taught workshops on entrepreneurship, business planning, and marketing as well as served as advisor to a number of area start-ups. Benjamin Barnett is Founder of the Media Bureau Inc. , Publisher for http://PA2012.com/, and Founder of the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival. Barnett has a BA in English Literature from American University, a certificate in campaign management from American University, and a MFA in Advertising Design from the Academy of Art University.
